Today’s Portfolio Spotlight features Exostar, a cloud-based, secure business collaboration provider for highly-regulated industries, including aerospace and defense, health care and life sciences. Through live and on-demand events and its comprehensive resource center, Exostar has been helping customers keep current with evolving federal regulations and improve business processes, information security and trust during the extended remote work period of increased vulnerability:

  • Navigating Evolving Federal Regulations: Exostar has been providing the aerospace and defense industry with insights on evolving federal rules and regulations, including the Department of Defense’s new interim rule regarding cybersecurity requirements. Exostar has published a series of blog posts, including one in October on the interim rule that explains when it takes effect, how it will impact companies throughout the Department of Defense supply chain and how Exostar’s risk management solutions like Certification Assistant and Exostar PolicyPro can help customers proactively prepare for changes that will affect their businesses significantly.
  • Delivering Federal Regulations Resources: Exostar has hosted a series of webinars, including one in November on the Department of Defense’s interim rule on the implementation of cybersecurity requirements, with government and industry experts to provide insight on what companies must do in order to comply. Exostar also made available a free suppliers guide for the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, a new requirement for Department of Defense contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, to guide them on the program, how and when it will affect them and how to best get ready for the third-party audit that precedes the necessary accreditation.
  • Streamlining Drug R&D Processes: Throughout the year, Exostar has continued to offer its expertise to the life sciences industry through its products, speaking engagements and blog posts. Exostar’s Secure Access Manager helps pharmaceutical companies and their partners collaborate and protect sensitive information and intellectual property throughout the clinical trial phases of the drug research and development process. In August, Exostar hosted a webinar on reducing clinical site user burden; in October, it hosted another webinar on improving the clinical trial experience for users and accelerating trial timelines; and in January, it hosted another webinar on how to make the best use of technology to support clinical trials.
  • Supporting Health IT Vendors and Health Care Providers: Even before COVID-19, the United States found itself in a health care crisis driven by opioid abuse. Drug Enforcement Agency rules and laws passed by individual states to combat the crisis mean Health IT vendors must support electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS) in their products used by physicians. Exostar’s ProviderPass solution delivers the identity proofing, credentialing and authentication capabilities that support EPCS. Over 75,000 health care providers rely on ProviderPass to support the issuance of over two million electronic prescriptions per month. Exostar conducts webinars with technology partners and recently released an eBook on the five must-haves when looking for the right EPCS solution.

We are so proud of the way that Exostar continues to support highly-regulated industries to keep information secure throughout remote work environments. Thank you, Exostar!
