Thoma Bravo LLC has completed its $124 million acquisition of Entrust Inc., a software maker and digital security provider.

The deal became official after a supermajority of Entrust stockholders voted to approve the deal at a special stockholder meeting held Tuesday, according to a news release. Entrust stockholders will receive $2 for each share they hold. That agreement, reached weeks ago, had been an 8.1% increase from an earlier deal of $1.85 a share, or about $114 million.

The amended agreement came after Entrust, Dallas, shopped around for a competing offer.

Barclays Capital is acting as financial adviser to Entrust and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati is acting as Entrust’s legal adviser.

Thoma Bravo, formerly Thoma Cressey Bravo, invests in the software, financial services and education sectors. In March, the firm closed on $822.5 million for its ninth fund, the firm’s first fund since splitting from former partner Bryan Cressey.
