Portfolio Spotlight features IDS, a software provider for the asset finance industry. IDS is helping to keep the industry moving through the COVID-19 pandemic, and chart a path forward once it subsides, by creating free resources, sharing research-based insights and identifying ways to assist businesses with continuity and profitability.

  • Providing Technology Solutions: IDS is providing a set of free resources to support asset finance companies through the current crisis and eventual recovery. IDS also created the IDS Portfolio Risk Visualizer, a cloud service that provides 24x7 visibility for all U.S. portfolio assets and is overlaid with Johns Hopkins COVID-19 data which tracks the pandemic’s spread in real time. IDS is providing the risk visualizer at no cost to all IDS customers, and as a 120-day free trial for non-IDS customers. IDS is also offering its asset finance experts’ knowledge to the broader community – inviting lessors to share their questions and specific challenges, regardless if they are an IDS customer or not.
  • Sharing Insights on Continuity and Profitability: Over the last four months, IDS has published a five-part blog series on a proposed path for asset finance businesses during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. These blog posts share insights on buyer behavior, opportunities for asset finance companies, IDS solutions that can help businesses continue serving clients in a remote environment and a four-step model of how companies can attain continuity and profitability now, while preparing for the future. As part of this blog series, IDS also surveyed 75 asset finance leaders in July and August on how they would describe their view of their business and market over the next 12-18 months; which markets would provide the best source of growth from mid-2020 through 2021; and what will be key to emerging from the pandemic and finding new opportunities for growth. IDS found that a third of finance leaders see the current business and market landscape as an opportunity for innovation; that 32% of leaders believe business and markets will turn for the better soon; that 43.8% of leaders believe the business equipment, enterprise technology and office systems sector will provide the best source of growth from mid-2020 through 2021; and that 35% of leaders believe expanding their customer base is key to identifying new growth, while 24% point to digital technologies as key.

We are so proud of how IDS is supporting its customers and the broader asset finance community through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you, IDS!
