Scott Crabill

Managing Partner

Scott Crabill is a Managing Partner at Thoma Bravo. Since joining in 2002, he has played a critical role in the firm’s growth and evolution into one of the world’s largest software investors. Scott is responsible for co-leading Thoma Bravo’s application software investing efforts. He also serves on the investment committees for all Thoma Bravo funds, and currently sits on the boards of ABC Fitness Solutions, Imprivata, J.D. Power, Medallia, QAD, Quorum and RealPage. In his 20+ years at Thoma Bravo, Scott has served on the boards of 25 portfolio companies and has led 15 exits.

In addition to his work in private equity, Scott is engaged in several local philanthropic initiatives. In 2018, he and his wife, Angela, co founded the Crabill Family Foundation, which seeks to ensure more equitable access to healthcare, education, housing and enriching arts opportunities in their hometowns of San Francisco, CA, and Springfield, Ohio. Scott also serves on the board of the California Pacific Medical Center Foundation, the capital-raising arm of Sutter Health hospital in San Francisco.

Scott received his BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He began his career in corporate finance at Alex. Brown & Sons., followed by an investment role at the private equity firm J.H. Whitney. Directly prior to Thoma Bravo, Scott was part of the investment team at Summit Partners, where he was involved in private equity investments in software and other technology businesses.

A recognized leader in software private equity, Scott has been featured in prominent news outlets and podcasts, including Capital Allocators, and regularly hosts software CEOs and founders on Thoma Bravo’s award-winning Behind the Deal podcast.
